Cautious about Dry Eyes in Autumn.

Under the conscious and calm state, normally, people’s eyes would excrete about 0.5 to 1.0 ml tears per 16 hours.

When one is stimulated or mood changes suddenly and greatly, the excretion of tears would increase obviously. Owing to different kinds of reasons, the quality and quantity of tears may be abnormal, so that the eyes will become dry, sore, and painful—this is called dry eyes.

According to the investigation of eye experts, there are many people who have dry eyes. They are mainly officers, office workers, and students. But few of them go to the hospital to have their dry eyes cured. Many people hold the view that dry eyes are the normal reaction of excessive work and entertainment, so they will just close eyes for a rest and pay attention to their sleep quality.
As a matter of fact, dry eyes are a kind of disease which could not be neglected. Dry eyes happen more frequently in autumn when you need to take more care of your eyes. Experts analyze, there are three aspects to cause dry eyes. First one: the dry environment in autumn; second one: the air-conditioner makes the indoor circumstances dry; third one: great work pressure causes overuse of eyes, and people spend over long time watching TV and playing computer. In addition to these, dry eyes are also related to diabetes, arthritis, endocrine dyscrasia, Female climacteric state, and other diseases. Smoking, drinking and other bad habits will influence the eye health as well.

Then how could you prevent from dry eyes?
1.    Do not focus your eyes on one point all the time. You need to blink your eyes often. Blink at least 4 to 5 times per minute.
2.    Do not be in the room with air-conditioner for a long time. Avoid sitting under the air-conditioner. Put a cup of water beside you to add the moisture around you.
3.    Eat more fruit, vegetable, milk product, and fish which is rich in vitamin and protein. Drink more water to lessen the dryness of eyes.
4.    Develop good habits in daily life. Have sufficient sleep and do not stay up.
5.    Avoid operating the computers for quite a long time. Take a break in the middle of your work all the time. Normally speaking, you should have 5 to 10 minutes rest for every one-hour work.
6.    Keep the best posture to make sure your eye vision is comfortable.
7.    The circumstance should be neither too bright nor too dim.
Apart from these aspects, during your rest time, you should move your neck and shoulders to release the muscles. If there are some symptoms such as the eyes are red and painful, you should go to the hospital as soon as possible.
