Choosing the Right Sunglasses for 6 kinds of Face Shapes

Whether you deny or not, sunglasses have become the ultimate fashion accessory in the modern society. Kate Winslet, Jennifer Aniston, and Christina Ricci are perhaps all the envy of you as they look much trendy with those fashion glasses, shining on the stage. Do you want to look like a star as one of them? Well, it is actually very easy. You don’t have to be too handsome or beautiful. All you have to do is to find a style that works for you.

As one of the most delicate and classic part of our body, face always leaves a first impression on others as it is endowed with the most natural, distinctive, and representative power. As the gift from our parents or maybe God, we should try our best to manifesto the prominent feature of our face.

Face shape is the first point to be noticed while choosing a pair of sunglasses. An improper pair of sunglasses may make your face look weird or strange. So first you should figure out what shape your face is. Is it square, round, oval, heart-shaped, triangular, or rectangular?

If you have a square face, it means the width of your forehead is in line with the width of cheeks and jaw. Then choose some narrow styles to soften the lines of a square face. Demi Moore and Hilary Swank have square faces. Oval or round sunglasses are the best.

Do you have a round face? Then choose a contrasting frame such as a rectangular one to make your face appear thinner. Kate Winsler, Chiristina Ricci, and Drew Barrymore all have this kind of face shape. So go with the opposite shaped sun eyeglasses to balance out your round face.

If you have an oval face, you are very lucky as lots of styles of sunglasses will complement this shape. Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox both fit this type. Such versatile shape with balanced proportions could virtually match any frame. To narrow down the choice, you may as well choose a pair which goes with the shape of your eyebrows.

What about for heart-shaped face shape? With a triangular face, you have broad forehead and a narrow chin. Then you should avoid oversized sunglasses as it makes your face appear wider. You could try a thin-rimed frame that doesn’t sit too high on your face.

Opposite to heart-shaped, triangular face shape refers to narrow cheekbones and temples, and a wide chin. For this face shape, you need a frame that makes your face look the opposite with a wider top and a narrow chin. Oversized oval frames are a good choice.

As to rectangular face, you may have a high forehead or a narrow chin. Niki Taylor and Gwyneth Paltrow are typical of this face shape. You could look for a frame that down plays your face length. Large square eyeglasses frames will help balance out the proportions of your face.

One point that you should always keep in mind is that even though a style may look trendy on the rack, it doesn’t mean it suits you. What you should do is to choose a sunglasses style that flatters your face shape.
