New Economy, Smart Consumer
In the years of the late 1990s, no economic theorist looked better than Joseph Schumpeter, the greatest Austrian champion of capitalism. His distinction? A theory he called “creative destruction.†The idea was straight-forward: in with the new, out with the old. Economy has life circle, just as people do. The theory of Schumpeter is to some degree like Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution.

So we can see that, the newer will be brought into economy while those old ones will be out. Companies today cannot just stick to their mainframe products or they will lose in the market. Many big and well-known firms have developed different and fresh products to get a top position and get benefit for the company. Not only will the kinds of products get out of the date, but also the ways to selling them.
As cities grow, according to the United Nations, approximately two-thirds of the world’s population is expected to live in urban areas some ten years later. Can you imagine that 3.7 billion people rush into a holiday street? The crowded scene may shock you. Hence, we need a new way of shopping to avoid this. That’s the e-shopping, the hottest e-business today.
I’d like to share my experience with all of you. Since summer is approaching, I want to have a pair of new sunglasses for this season. But when I went out on the weekend, I can hardly move an inch in the shopping mall after a long time in a can-like-bus. There are too many people. Not until the evening did I get home that day. The most depressed thing is that I spent eight hours outside but just got an unsatisfied pair of sunglasses. Why should I waste such a lot of time and money to do so? Well, to get a pair of nice glasses? It’s not worthy, right? However, weekdays are unsuitable for going out to shopping because I’ve got to work. What’s more, consider that weekdays are also crowded? Is there a convenient way? The answer is the e-shopping, a much comfortable way in the new economy.
What people prefer e-shopping have to do is to open the computer which is connected to the Internet, click the mouse, look through the catalogs and then make a choice. The bargain will be delivered to you in a few days. Because of these advantages, more and more people choose the on-line shopping like I do.
The new economy does not only lie in the company and manufacturer but the consumers as well. To be a smart consumer, we should not just buy traditionally but dare to use the new way. We should be the attacker but the defender.
