In Today’s information society, people become more and more independent on computer. Some people as well as children even sit in front of computer for more than 10 hours a day. Watch for symptoms
Parents should pay close attention to computer vision syndrome, including eye redness, frequent eye rubbing, and complaints of blurred eyes. If these symptoms do occur, the children are advised to visit the ophthalmologists.
Make sure proper lighting in the room
Glare on the computer is much harmful to eyes. So window and other light sources should not be directly visible when sitting in front of computer.
Check the height of the computer
For your children, the computer workstation should be arranged to suit them, not the adult. The screen must not be too high, and is suggested to be slightly downward at 15-degreee. Besides, the children should be taught to keep away from the computer about two feet.
Have eyes examination
Regular eyes examination could be effectively protect children’s eyes. An eye doctor can detect any hidden conditions that may cause eye strain. If needed, the doctor may prescribe a pair of special glasses, called computer glasses, to be worn while working on the computer.
