Measuring Your Face

Grab a flexible tape measure, and follow the guidelines below.
First, take the following measurements (in inches or centimeters):

1. Forehead: Pull the tape measure from the peak of one eyebrow arch to the peak of the opposite arch.

2. Cheekbones: Measure across your upper cheek bone from edge to edge.

3. Jawline: Measure your jaw across your face at its widest point (about an inch down from your ears).

4. Face length: Measure from the center of your hairline to the tip of your chin.

WHAT ARE THE BEST FRAMES FOR YOUR FACE SHAPE?

Once you’ve got your shape figured out, let’s start to find the best frame shape for you.

Round shaped face:

Cheekbones and face length have a similar measurement. They are larger than forehead and jawline, which also have a similar measurement. The angle of the jaw is soft and not as defined.

We recommended:

Long and thin frames are recommended, the lines of face are less defined and fuller, square shaped frames will complement this face shape best by adding definition and lines. We recommend square, rectangular, browline or classic wayframe glasses frames. These frames give the appearance of a slimmer face.

Square shaped face:

All measurements are fairly similar. The angle of the jaw is sharp.

We recommended:

In order to soften the face, round or oval shaped frames are highly recommended, because these frames can tone down and create balance of your face. Tonal and lively metal frames are also recommended.

Diamond shaped face:

Face length is largest. Then, in descending order: cheekbones, forehead, and smallest is jawline. The chin is pointed.

We recommended:

Focus on frames with angular, edgy elements to complement your angular features. We recommended cat eye, horn, or browline frames.

Oval shaped face:

Face length is larger than the width of the cheekbones, and forehead is larger than the jawline. The angle of the jaw is rounded.

We recommended:

If you have an oval shaped face, you can rock any style. Oval is often considered ideal because it is the most classically proportional.
