Prism
Prism is the prismatic power used to correct vision displacement, like double vision. Most eyeglass prescriptions do not have prism correction. Prism is a measure in prism diopters.
A prescription with prism prescription will have two values per eye. GlassesShop is able to accommodate prism corrections with a range of 0.25 to 5.00 diopters in any direction or combination of directions. If you have a combination of the horizontal and vertical prism, the prism input may be more limited. Base Direction is usually written as BU for Base Up, BD for Base Down, BI for Base In, and BO for Base Out.
If you do not have prism correction in your prescription, do not include prism values since it will negatively affect your vision.
Segment Height Tips
The standard to which we produce multi-focal lens is depending on the size of the lens, approximately 2 mm lower from the middle line of the lens for a lined bi-focal lens design and 4 mm above the middle line of the progressive lens. The actual dimension, therefore, is somewhat affected by the chosen. And most customers find these dimensions completely workable for their vision needs.
